KAYAKING - Lhurs Landing
Wednesday, June 21, 2017, 5:30 PM
Latitude 47.10048727, Longitude -122.7266708
is not Required
This event is an not a formal Skihawk function, but is an open invitation to join a group of friends (many of who are now Skihawk members) for a fun relaxing evening of kayaking. This is an informal, unstructured function where we gather at a predetermined location and time at various locations for kayaking and socializing. Please feel free to join this group of friends and invite others to join at your own risk as described in the Release of Liability below.
Today we will launch at Lhurs Landing. Normal launching will be at 5:30 pm, kayaking on an outgoing tide towards the creek, so you will be returning with the tide flow.
However, if you would like to be on the water longer and are able to come early, a small group of us will be kayaking the incoming tide up the creek towards Sandi Braget's house. High tide is at 5:09 pm. If you are able to come early, let's plan to launch no later than 4:00 pm, then kayak the creek, returning around 5 pm (will decide once we know our progress) to meet other kayakers who will be launching at 5:30 pm or later.
For those launching at 5:30 pm or later, plan to kayak towards the freeway (right of the boat ramp) where you will eventually meet up with the early kayakers on their return.
See today's tide chart: Tide Chart
After kayaking we will gather at the launch site to share refreshments, so please bring a special treat/drink to share .
